UPDATE!
Jane Powell announces...
The Winners
of her
Watercolour Challenge!

"Well done to everyone.
Both Marie and I are extremely happy with the way the Final went and particularly pleased at the super paintings produced. Speaking as a fellow artist, Prue Rowe-Evans' garden seemed to be an ideal place to stage our Final. Sorry there was no sun , but at least it was fine and we extend our grateful thanks to Prue for her huge contribution to the occasion.

The judges for the Final Heat were Prue Rowe-Evans, Gill Yarnall, and Jean Mauger, each very experienced in the field of art. It was highly difficult to choose the top three, but this is the decision that was eventually reached:

FIRST PLACE: Maurice Hatfield

SECOND PLACE: Jim Kirkwood

THIRD PLACE: Margaret A. Cole

Because of the high standard overall, Marie and I have awarded:

a STUDIO PRIZE to: Kevin Alexander

and

a HIGHLY COMMENDED to: Winifred Wilmot

Many congratulations to each of you!

What will our winner choose?
Will it be a two week exhibition of their work in 2003 at the Jane Powell Art Studio,
or
a £100 cash prize?

The 2nd, 3rd and Studio Prize winners will each receive some art materials.

We would like all finalists to mount and frame your pictures for inclusion in the Rupert Cordeux exhibition next month (4th to 18th October incl). Your painting can be for sale or not as you wish. However, if you choose to sell your work, then a 25% commission fee will apply. Sorry!

Would all finalists please come and collect your work from Studio 2 on either Friday or Saturday this week (20th. or 21st. Sept), any time between 10.30 - 4.00 pm. This, we feel, should give you ample time to get your work framed, and ready for hanging on the morning of:

Friday 4th. October around 10.30 am.

If these arrangements cause any difficulty for anyone, then please get in touch in the usual way.

Once again, thank you all for taking part and making the competition such a success. Oh, and don't forget to enter our next event in February 2003, entitled 'LIGHT'. Full details available on this website shortly!

With good wishes to all,

Jane and Marie."
