We
are holding another Open Exhibition in September entitled PORTRAIT
OPEN 2006.
This will provide you with the opportunity to produce a two- dimensional
human portrait of either a family member or other individual enabling
you to capture the character and personality of your model. There
have been some interesting portraits done by artists featured in a
number of television programmes in recent months – the Queen,
for example, is the subject for numerous commissioned portraits to
commemorate her 8oth birthday. We are not suggesting you do that,
but who can you depict? Your portrait should be a head and upper body
study seen against an appropriate background.
Remember you can use any two-dimensional medium.

Artists may submit one entry only. Total perimeter dimensions of the
two dimensional work must not exceed 144 inches framed.
· Pictures should be
mounted and framed where appropriate, using 2mm picture glass and
all, whether under glass or on canvas, fitted tightly with d-rings
and cord.
· All entries must be
labelled with the artist’s name, title of work, medium and price.
· Your entry
should be brought to the Studio on Tuesday 12th September 2006 between
10.30am and 2pm. You will be notified by post only, if your
work is rejected and this should be collected on Thursday 14th September
between 10.30am and 3pm.
· There is a small entrance
fee of £5.00 to help towards administrative costs.
· The Winner will be
presented with the Jane Powell Art Studio Open Silver Salver, a small
replica of the Salver to keep and a good range art materials.
· There will be a 25%
commission on work sold.
· At the end of the
Exhibition all unsold work should be collected from the Studio on
Saturday 30th September between 2pm and 4pm please

Studio by Friday 25th August 2006 together with your
cheque for £5.00 please.
One very
important point to bear in mind. This Exhibition cannot take place
without YOU!
So materials at the ready and please return your completed form with
your cheque by the date requested.
